Homes Cool History
How a father creates his own history lessons for his children and turns it into an engaging podcast for all
The creator behind the Substack “Homes Cool History” goes simply by “Ancient Sir”, but in reality, is a normal, hardworking homeschooling father who began making history podcasts for his kids, which, over time evolved into its own Substack that he is now sharing with everyone.

What started simply—as a way to help his children engage with history in a way that respected their intelligence, faith, and humor, grew into a full podcast archive. It features longform dramatized history, to absurd civics debates (like Cody & Bode), to gentle time-travel adventures for younger kids. It blends faith, imagination, and historical depth - all with original writing, music, and narration, and it is steadily growing.
